The Palmetto Riflemen & Anderson's Battery invite you to join us on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th, 2026, for "The Carolina Campaign" - the 161st Anniversary of the Skirmish at Gamble's Hotel, an American Civil War Reenactment and Living History.

This two-day event interprets the events and people of the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina during the time of the March 4th, 1865, skirmish at Gamble's Hotel. Come and see Infantry, Artillery & Cavalry in action and camp, watch the battle reenactments (at 1 PM both days), hear period music, see military, medical and civilian demonstrations, presentations throughout the day, and visit period merchants and food vendors!

The event is being held at the Historic Johnson-Rankin Plantation near Florence, South Carolina. Commonly known as the "Columns Plantation," the home was built in 1857 and gets its name from the 22 Greek-style columns surrounding the home.

For updates regarding planning, preparations and other details of the event check back with this website or join our Facebook Page to keep posted on what is happening.
