COMPANY HISTORICAL RESEARCH
Unit Historic Impressions
In reenacting, groups choose a primary historical unit which they wish to portray, these can be Infantry, Artillery, Cavalry, Civilians, or any of the countless specialty impressions; these will sometimes change from event to event, as the historic units may not have been engaged at the battle or the in area. For the "Palmetto Riflemen & New York Zouaves" we portray the Palmetto Sharpshooters Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers, and 32nd Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment for Confederate, the 17th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment for Zouave, the 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment for regulation Federal and Civilian Impression for the everyday people of Carolina's & Georgia. Below will be found historical information on the officers and men of these units.
Historic Research
In addition to the historical research on those we portray, we have also gathered information on a variety of different historical subjects of the period. Two of the leading efforts are the South Carolina Volunteers Database and the Zouave Archives, repositories for our research on these subjects have been established as part of this site to share this information with others.
